Nadia Elena Comaneci
Her name gained international attention and admiration by giving the people of the world one of their most memorable moments in the history of sports - scoring the first-ever perfect ten in asymmetric bars at the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976. She went on to achieve six other perfect 10, giving her the distinction of being the smallest Olympic All-around gold medallist aged just 14. The awe-inspiring Nadia Comaneci did more than draw attention, she helped Romania achieve a worldwide presence. In achieving a result that was unattainable heroism in sport, the athlete brought gymnastics to the forefront of world interest. Also, it changed the way people think of women gymnasts. Her contribution to the Olympics was such it is that 2 of her gymnastics moves including the toe-on as well as the release move, are named after her. Both are classified as being difficult at a high level. In addition to the Olympics, she showed remarkable skills at World Championships and European Championships also, making her the living legend of her time and one of the top gymnasts anyone could be privileged to. The model also promoted and designed sports gear after she moved into the US.
